  • Google Can Now Deliver Native Ads Programmatically
    This shift is driven by the aim of improving mobile user experiences and this is perceived as a solution. The nature of which it is conducted is having the advertiser upload components of a native ad where DoubleClick will then automatically assemble them to fit the context and format of the site or app where the ad will appear. However, I believe this may devalue the brand featured, down into the ranks of clickbait inventory from its attempt to blur the existing definitive lines between content and advertising. Additionally, from examples seen thus far, this has led me to believe that the way the ad is assembled lacks any distinctive and appropriate attempts to suitably fit with the website content leading to further devaluation.
